“I’m a forever-learner who thrives on collaboration. Working with artisans, architects, builders, and clients allows us to create something truly unique for each project. I believe great ideas come from many minds working together, not just one.”

Alicia Cheung

PRINCIPAL

Alicia Cheung is the founder and principal of Alicia Cheung Design (ACD), a full-service, contemporary interior design firm based in San Francisco, CA. After honing her craft at the renowned AD100 firm Ken Fulk Inc., she co-founded Studio Heimat in 2015, an award-winning design firm with a global project footprint. Now, with over 16 years in the industry, Alicia has established ACD, a firm recognized as a trusted design partner, known for a uniquely client-centered approach that meets clients exactly where they are, and delivers the design they are dreaming of.

A Silicon Valley native, Alicia’s creative journey began in fashion, using it as a medium to express her style and flair. She earned degrees in Textiles & Clothing and Economics from UC Davis, and her passion for materials and curation continues to fuel her curiosity with each new collection and season. Alicia’s talent lies in her ability to connect seemingly disparate elements to craft elegant design solutions or solve complex logistical challenges. Her work is rooted in understanding each client’s unique needs, allowing her to create an effortlessly stylish home that truly reflects their essence.

Through a distinctive blend of client-first focus and her eye for joyful, refined, and eclectic curation, Alicia leads ACD in crafting beautiful, functional, and deeply personal homes for clients near and far. Her work has been seen in Architectural Digest, Luxe Interiors + Design, Domino, and Interiors Magazine. A frequent speaker on design, fashion, and business, Alicia is also dedicated to community impact, serving on the executive board of the Asian American Pacific Islander Design Alliance (AAPIDA).

Increasingly, Alicia is finding ways to evolve the ACD process to reduce waste and lower the footprint on the environment, through partnering with organizations to reuse building materials, rehome clients’ unwanted furniture, and source from sustainably made materials and furnishings. She is enthusiastic about the proximity to being at the heart of the technology and AI industries and is always looking for ways to innovate on the design process and find efficiencies in some areas of the work, so that she may be more free to discover art, craftspeople, and dive deeper into the “analog” world of working with your hands.

She resides in San Francisco with her husband and two young children and has recently taken up gardening. In her free time, she loves catching up on sleep, and sharing long conversations with her best friend.

At ACD, we believe designers play an uplifting role.

We are inspired to help our clients create interior environments that help tell their stories while maintaining a level of functionality needed for modern living.

ACD is a proud affiliate of:

“The client has always been our muse- and our goal is to take the essence of the client and create an elevated, highly personalized home that speaks to who they are.”
