The Ask: Renovate for a young family, keeping it joyful, durable, and functional for family living
A turn-of-the-century triplex was in need of major upgrades and design help in order to function well for a modern family. We worked closely with our builder and architect to devise a floor plan that would keep the common spaces at the front of the home, and the bedrooms at the back. Previously a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom unit, we were able to get 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and a laundry closet into the space. Incorporating joyful wallpapers, patterns, and colors throughout, this old building got a new lease on life- now full of kids’ laughter and steps up and down the hallway.
